TS file timing info

From the Videolan forums:

TS or M2TS files don't contain info of video or audio duration. Duration cannot be calculated easily because of VBR , broken packets and/or streaming not allowing random reads.

Funny, NPVR seems to deal with it just fine!

I know this is old, but I have eventually worked this out.

Code:

"ffmpeg.exe" -y -async 48000 -fflags +genpts -i <input file> -vcodec copy -acodec copy -threads 16 -sn -g 25 -r 25 -sameq -ac 2 <output file>.mkv

works well. The WD TV Live plays these recordings and allows FF/REW/SKIP with no hiccups.
Because its a copy not a conversion, I get about 3000fps conversion (quad-core i5)
