EventGhost probably doesn't like running as Local System. You can try changing NRecord to run as a real user account in services.msc (use the same one that runs NextPVR.exe). There might be other consequences to this, but it will at least tell you if that's the problem.

One of the Sysinternal tools psexec can open a local system (as opposed to admin) command prompt when run from and admin command window, which is good for testing some scripts too. This is the syntax:

psexec -i -s cmd.exe

Windows 7 ??

Sure I've seen something like this before.

I think the solution was to explicitly set the .bat file security permissions to Admin = Full Access. Then do the same for the folder containing the batch file and the EventGhost folder.

Meant to provide an update sooner, but summer got in the way... I gave up trying to sort out the permissions issue described above, and resorted to using UDPSender to route the commands from NPVR via the prerecording script to EventGhost. Works like a charm, and never have to worry about missing a recording because my antenna is pointing the wrong way. Lots of info on how to use UDPSender in the EventGhost forums if anyone else is looking for a similar solution. Thanks Sub for including the prerecording bat. Probably not used by many users, but solves a key problem for me.
