if nextpvr.exe is left running, recordings don't show in tv guide

this is a long-standing problem, but continues to annoy.

Had you left the recordings screen and gone back in? It should have reloaded the recording list when you did that.

of course. I promise I wouldn't be complaining if that's all it took. The only way to get the TV guide to show the recordings is to exit restart NextPVR.exe.

Was it like this in the morning after an EPG update, or something else like manually initiated epg update?

yes, if NextPVR.exe is left running during the overnight automatic EPG update, it will often (but not always) fail to highlight some or all of the upcoming recordings the next day (though the timeline is always properly highlighted). I don't know the exact pattern, whether it just takes one day or several days. I'll check for it tomorrow, if it does it I'll see what else I can tell you. It doesn't seem like the logs will contain anything relevant though.

Here's another variation, where a couple of shows are marked red, but several are not. These are all recurring recordings; in fact the Seinfeld recordings are all from a single "All Channels" recurring recording, yet the KDOC shows are marked, while the TBS shows aren't. Earlier in the day a couple of kids' shows are also not marked. I've not yet restarted NextPVR.exe, so let me know if you want me to look at something else.

I'v been scratching my head over this too. Now I see that if I restart NextPVR the recordings does show up in red. I have programmed an exit/restart button on my remote

interestingly now the previously missing 7:00-7:30pm and 7:30-8:00pm recordings do show highlighted in red. I guess it does get them eventually, though I've definitely had cases where a program was never marked red, even when it was actually recording-in-progress.

edit: by the way, the forum clock is really getting pretty far ahead. this post shows 7:33pm my time, but it wasn't even 7:20 yet when I posted.
