That would be great. I thought maybe you had run into obstacles and I really want to get this going. FTR is beginning to drive me nuts due to the lack of XBMC support at this time.

No, I was just waiting to see if anyone else gave me an export file. You pretty much use one rule, as you wrote, so I need some other samples to make it widely available.

sub Wrote:Yes, when scheduling it from NextPVR's TV Guide screen, double click (or press enter) on an airing of that show, select "Record' and change the "Recording Type" to "Record All Episodes, All Channels".

Sub toricred asked me a question off-forum and it got me think about this since there might be a bug. I have

<RecurringMatch>Exact</RecurringMatch>

and I tried one of these queries and the rules created still has a % for a non-exact match.

The attached patch fixes the advanced rule created for the "record all episodes, all channels" recordings. For new recordings of this type created it'll now honor the user's setting of whether to match the beginning or an exct match. Other recording types were unaffected.

Thanks, I'm surprised it wasn't noted before. Of all the queries this one had to potential to record a lot of bad matches.

I dont think that many people do "all channels, all episodes" types of recordings. From what I've seen in the logs, most people have recurring recordings on specific channels. Also, a lot of shows have complicated enough names that they're probably not going accidentally match with other shows.

About half of my recurring recordings are that type, but I've never had any problems with unwanted recordings due to this. The only cases I can think of this change won't make any difference. For example, Downton Abbey is aired here as "Masterpiece Classic" for the Title, with "Downton Abbey" as the subtitle. Sometimes they air some other shows as "Masterpiece Classic" and it records those too, but since the title is an exact match it's not going to change anything. I'm sure if I actually cared I could create a manual recurring recording rule based on the subtitle instead, but my solution so far is to just delete the excess recordings.

The query problem was for Touch and there were a lot of "Touched by an Angel" scheduled. As you say it probably isn't that common.

Is it normal for this type of recurring recording to show in NEWA as only being scheduled for the first channel in the guide?

It's probably a cosmetic NEWA bug. I dont personally use NEWA, so couldn't tell you.
