In-Progress Recordings

Is there a way to get the recordings list to refresh and show In-Progress recordings? I have waited several minutes and it doesn't seem to update on its own even though it is showing the recording in-progress in the right upper corner of the screen (above "Next Recording" entry). I have to exit XBMC and restart to get it to show in the recordings list.

Also, when watching an in-progress recording the total length of the recording does not continuously update. It does update when you skip past the original length (when you started watching it) but if you catch up to the current time of recording it kicks you out of playback and considers it watched and you can't resume. Is there any way around this issue?

In the recordings screen hit left to bring up the side menu. With the recordings menu item highlighted hit OK and the list should refresh.

A couple of the other side menu items also have other functions. The TV Channels menu item also changes the selected channel group, the EPG menu item will change the view between now, next and grid and search will open up a new search screen.

Because it didn't refresh that the file was growing so it only played as far as it had come when I started playing. If this is differs depending on what kind of access you have to the recording I don't know (local, nettwork share etc.).

This appears to be an XBMC issue -- I was just reading, earlier this morning in their developer PVR forum, about this issue.. Feel free to read up if you like-- specifically the last post on the first page seems interesting by Margro.. Not sure if something similar can be done for the NPVR plugin..?

In x-newa you need to be playing an in-progress recording from a local drive or share for it to work, but the duration time doesn't change unless you are near the right side of the timeline. The big challeng is to get XBMC to think the file is bigger than it is.

It seems to be working for me as I described above. The only problem occurs when I catch up to the current recording time.

As mentioned above, above this is a current limitation of XBMC when streaming over HTTP.

There are two conditions. With http when it gets to the end of file, playback dies, when playing from the file system, playback doesn't die, but the end time doesn't change unless you are within seconds of what has been recorded.

Is there any way to get playback direct from a share when running x-newa in Linux (OpenElec)?
