Thanks BTJustice!

So the order would be...

1. Record File
2. Run comskip
3. Delete extra comskip files
4. Rename/get thumbs with imageGrabLite
5. Covert with MCEBuddy

I already have the first 4 steps complete, just need the 5th one Smile

Sounds like a winner. You might copy/paste a few recordings to a new folder away from your main NPVR Recordings to verify. Change the directory from "D:\Recorded TV" to the new folder you created to try it.

Actually I think it's a little simpler, if you just change mencoder-remuxto=.mkv in the profile MCEBuddy will take care of the rest.

Seems like spam to me. I'd delete it if I could, but for some reason my moderator power doesn't work here (in Community Announcements).

I found their spam-advertised product online. Looks suspicious to me. Hopefully you or sub can get that deleted before someone regrets it.

BTJustice, Thanks for your thread. I don't need the CC so could I use the Comskip with out any problems? If so, what do I need to change?

Right now I am setting this up to work with my XBMC's throughout the house. I'm wanting to make my own recordings instead of streaming them from 1channel (want better quality with out the buffering). I setup the HDHomeRun Prime with my cable card and can watch and record TV now from with XBMC, but a 1 hour show is 7.5 GB.

I have got imageGrabLite changing the name of the file to ShowName.SxxExx.EpisodeTite so the recordings show up in the "TV Shows" section of xbmc with all the meta data and cover art and I'm wanting MCEBuddy to reduce the file size while keeping a good HD quality. I figured taking out the commercials will normally trim about 20 minutes off a 1 hour show so this will help to reduce the file size as well.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Should be OK. It's been awhile since I used MCEBuddy since NPVR does .TS instead of .MPG recording now. I probably need to mess with it again as I am getting kind of low on disc space.

So do you transcode your recordings at all now or leave them as very large .ts files?

I haven't been, but need to. This might wind up being my weekend project.
