Could you please start using version number.

A changelog would be nice, at least for big changes, but version numbering as a minimum.

Like the plugin just hit osx, but what version? There are several linux ppa that provides builds but no way of knowing how old the plugin is.

Yes, I intend to.

At this stage there has effectively only been a single release of the addon, so the osx and linux builds you're seeing are that same version. The osx addon had a very minor code change to get it to compile, but otherwise it's functionally same.

I have been working on the next release of the addon, and it'll hopefully be submitted in the next few days.

Yes, I have added timeshift. Pausing and fast-forwarding generally work well. Rewind usually works, but can look ugly. This is an XBMC playback issue, not a addon issue.

Sometimes rewind can also do some odd jumps (even in the wrong direction), which also relates to the way XBMC estimates the seek location based on the sampled bitrate (determined from the first few MB of the timeshift buffer). This is also an XBMC issue.

Are you joking ? Given your description of how it works I actually think you are telling the truth, because my previous experience with FTR timeshifting was the same.

Any news on channelchange issues (stuck in buffering etc)

And when can we test this new version ?

No, I'm not joking. I have added support for it. As mentioned above, its not flawless, but for reasons outside of my control. Yes, I understand other addons have the same issues with rewinding.

I haven't noticed it. Post the logs and I'll take a look.

Probably in the next few days.

also will these changes be immediately pushed into the main xbmc source, so nightly builds with have the updated plugin?

I'm undecided at this stage since it also requires some updated backend components, and I'm not going to be doing a full nextpvr release for a while.

I may have to a little more work to get it to fall back to the old non-timeshifting behaviour if the server doesn't yet support it, so that'll still work for people running an unpatch 2.5.9. If the user is fully patched then they'll get the new timeshifting behavior. If I can get it behaving that way, then I'll request these changes are pulled into the main source.
