I think I already installed 7, but I wasn't completely up to date. As soon as I get a break between recordings later tonight I will install them all.

Martin,

I didn't see that error. Which log was it in?

You have many of these

2012-10-25 14:05:05.921 [ERROR][8] Unexpected error in UpdateRecurringRecording(): System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
at NShared.RecordingServiceProxy.UpdateRecurringRecording(RecurringRecording recurringRecording)

Martin,

Once a show is actually recorded with NPVR, then it won't be re-scheduled and re-recorded.

But, from this message:
toricred Wrote:Sure. The thing that was throwing me off was that I went through the list of Pending Recordings in NPVR and cancelled the recordings for two days that were duplicates and yet when the EPG is updated they are re-scheduled.
it seems that the pending recordings are being deleted, not already completed recordings. But those deleted pending recordings aren't put in the table of recorded shows, so the next time an EPG update runs, those future shows still match season recordings (and aren't already in the history of recorded episodes), and consequently get re-scheduled.

Brett, if you cancel a pending recurring recording it deletes the scheduled_recording and it also adds the unique_id to the recently_deleted table so it won't come back as a recurring recording.

Cool. I think this must be a relatively new feature that I missed reading about. Deleting pending recordings isn't something that I actually ever need to do. :-)

I installed the patches last night and during today's import still had the errors. Any suggestions how to narrow this down.

How were these recurring recordings created? TV Guide, NEWA, TV Listings etc?

You'd probably need to zip and attach your npvr.db3 so I could tell you what it doesn't like about those recurring recordings.

These are recurring recordings. I believe they are the ones I imported using Martin's FTR Import utility simply because those are the vast majority of my recurring recordings.

I can't upload my db3 file because it is too large, but here's a link to it on dropbox. https://www.dropbox.com/s/y0uxd2sbdy878l2/npvr.zip

The problem relates to manual recurring recording set to "all channels", and no advanced rules to narrow down the criteria. ie, its not possible to record on every channel at that same time of day. The recording would either need to specify a specific channel, or some advanced rule to limit it further.

Its not possible to create a recording like this using the screens the app provides, so I assume is a bug in Martin's import tool.
