Dim UI in XBMC Windows

Hi. I'm new to NextPVR and the NextPVR Addon in XBMC. I've been using XBMC for years but new to the PVR stuff.

I have a question. When I select "LIVE TV" from XBMC (I use the Neon skin), it goes into the addon and I'm presented with the left-hand menu. The screen is dim at this point. I can navigate through everything fine and everything works great. However, it stays dim until I start playing something, at which point the screen returns to its usual brightness.

Is this normal? It makes it quite hard to see stuff.

Here are my screenshots. Screenshot000 is of the dim NextPVR screen and Screenshot001 is of my normal UI brightness.

Any ideas why this is happening?

How does it look with Confluence? I find that the skin does use a lot of near black so on a black background image it certainly appear to be dim.

I'll try a different skin but it seems it shouldn't do this. Literally every other portion of the UI is the same as the bright image, and EVERYTHING aside from possibly the time in the top right looks dimmed, down to the art, etc.

Anyway, I'll test with Confluence tonight and re-post.

you would also be better off posting on xbmc.org, since this wont have anything to do with the nextpvr addon, but the live tv functions of xbmc itself.

OK, I'll admit I wasn't expecting this. It's fine in Confluence, so definitely a skin issue.
