OK, here are the logs from the worse of the two kinds of freezes - video froze, audio stopped and I had to hard reset.

I've replayed the last .ts file in nPVR and it ends where the freeze happened but doesn't cause a crash.
It's 6 minutes 40 secs long and 120,696KB in size. I have a suspicion it happened as it was changing to a new file but that's purely a hunch.

Do other players like VLC end at the same place in that file?

Have you press pause or skip back during that session? If not, then it's not looking at the files. Until you do one of those, it's just using the live output of the device and hasn't switch to playing files.

Is F:\ a local drive, or network drive?

That thread appears to be "dead". That's why I posted here.

Thanks for looking into it!

I hope not, because it isn't resolved!

Maybe not dead, just a question of low priority. My client hasn't been usable for almost two months. I've been saved by how well the xbmc client performs, even wit wifi, and since I don't navigate live tv, I doubt if I'll go back.

Tonight I've just had one of the video-only-freezes.
I kept the file and in nPVR it repeatedly freezes at the same place. I've tried this with three different decoders now. But played on the same PC with Windows Media Player it doesn't freeze.

Logs attached - I'm not sure exactly what time the freeze was, but around 18.30.

Just for information, I've recently installed nPVR on my laptop and it freezes in the same place, playing the same file and again WMP doesn't.

One other thing, I never start viewing via the Live TV menu - I always start from the TV Guide - in this case does your comment about not playing the files still hold true?

Thanks!

Can you put the file somewhere I can download it from?

Hi

I guess you never got time to look at this.

I eventually gave up with the Nova-T 500 and reverted back to my older Nova-T (single DAB tuner DVB-T).
It's a lot more stable but I do still get some recordings where it skips large chuncks/freezes.
I'm using the cyberlink decoder and playing the same files using cyberlink powerdvd they do not freeze/skip but do sometimes stutter slightly.

Any suggestions as to a way forward? Do I upload the files/logs?

Thanks

Chris
