I've had to do a similar thing recently trying to scan 19.2 deg, I created a spreadsheet (attached) to go from king of sat ini files to npvr ones. I don't think I included the pilot and rolloff values that are required by some s2 cards on s2 transponders so may not work if you have one of the older s2 cards.

Support for King of Sat files out of the box would be excellent as a lot of the ini files in the NPVR folder are out of date and joshyfun seems to be no longer updated which is where I think you got them from originally.

Oh in the spreadsheet you may have to covert text to columns after you paste using , and = as delimiters.

Nothing changed over here. Sounds odd that it's working for you, but not for me Undecided

Edit: Just saw Elmo's post. Elmo, your attached zip file is empty?

ahh right you are, try again - I had the file open so the zip operation failed.

It's a TBS6981 dual s2 card I have one pointing at 5W for French TV and the other to 19.2E mainly for RTL for the formula 1.

Just took another look at my xl file, it's not entirely automatic, after you have pasted and got it into columns you need to do a find and replace on "Auto" to change it to a 0 (zero)

Unfortunately it would appear to affect the Hauppauge Nova HD S2 card as well. NPVR will not see the S2 streams such as BBC1 HD, BBC HD etc. NPVR seems to miss quite a few FTA channels such a travel channel on 12560 V as well. I am running 2.5.9 patched on XP SP3. It seems as if NPVR is just looking for DVB-S only. Other software has had issues with S2 which has been fixed, although I am not sure how.

My next trick is to remove all the HD stuff to see if the remaining SD channels appear.

Nice to have NPVR back since my move to XBMC, I have missed it!

UPDATE:
Ripping (very uncleanly) the HD channels out of the ini file opens up all the missing SD channels along with some HD channels with a normal SR of 22000. It would appear that the SR's of 23000 (BBC) and 29500 (Sky) upsets NPVR and it ability to scan.

Update 2:
Ok looking at the log it would appear that whilst NPVR thinks it has changed both frequency and polarisation, it in fact has not and is rescanning the channel just done. This appears to be a bug that will need sub to look at and coment on. Once this is cleared, we may get the HD mux channels appearing. At this lets get the basic SD stuff working!

The Nova HD S2 card is one of the older cards that need tuning files that supply the extra rolloff/pilot information, otherwise you wont get DVB-S2 channels. ie, you wouldn't be able to use this kingofsat files.

Hi sub

Many thanks for the reply...not good news, that might answer some of the other issues with the system. Can you point me in the right direction for info on "how to" the tuning files?

Thanks

Jon
