Since changing to NPVR I have been having frequent problems with my recordings made on an HDHR. Today I finally figured out the common factor. The problem recordings have timing.info files associated with them. The issues are related to the reported length while watching them and skipping either forward or back. My colossus recordings are all fine so I am wondering if there's a way to not have external timing.info?

Are you playing via TV Shows or the NextPVR PVR Recordings? I don't expect XBMC reads the Timing.Info files itself so it would have to be the web server and I haven't noticed it using it.

I watch everything via TV Shows. I strongly prefer the bling available that way.

I don't know how this can be linked to Timing.Info it is a NextPVR format that XBMC doesn't understand. More likely XBMC doesn't like your ts files. The Colossus make analog captures so the timeline is good, the ones from your cable company aren't necessarily good, (which is why Timing.Info exists) so XBMC may be having issues.

The ts files with timing.info are from OTA not a cable company. Is there a chance that the HDHR drivers are bad?

As Martin said, it's probably nothing to do with the timing.info. You can just delete this file if you think it is related. I'm sure it's a case of xbmc just not liking the broadcasters bitstream (delivered from the HDHR)
