Recording - with audio - plays with no audio

I've got a recording from a channel that I've successful made (and played) hundreds of recordings from before that plays with no audio. But the recording *does* have audio, which I've confirmed with MediaInfo and via playback outside of NPVR.

This isn't anything I'm too bothered about (it's a throw-away show), but it would be nice to get to the bottom of why it doesn't play properly. Neither my laptop (using lav) or my htpc (using ac3filter) will work with it.

I've included the log file for it. Note that it contains 2 playback entries...firstly for a recording of the same programme (different episode) that does play fine, and then secondly for the one that doesn't. My experience was it wouldn't play with audio with NextPVR because no audio was added in the initial graph. I ticked the option to include all decoders and it works on resume. Perhaps the best thing for NextPVR to do in cases where it tries to play a file that it thinks contains video only would be to act as iif all decoders was ticked.

I always recommend MPC to test, it seems to always play most troublesome files

Hmm, yeah, that makes it work. Why though? Especially as I already had the only two audio decoders needed for my tv and recordings (mpeg and ac3) mapped?

Are there any downsides to having the box unticked? Which I also notice has a small typo; it says "only used mapped audio decoders..."

It looks like it's related to a broken PMT at the beginning of the file, which strangely passes the CRC check, so the app doesn't detect any audio streams. I'm still looking at it.

I've fixed that typo for the next release.

It's probably an anomaly considering the huge number of recordings I've made over time that have been fine, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.
