How do I properly create season passes?

I've been tinkering with NPVR off and on over the years. Since Sage's buyout, I've spent a little more time with it. The one thing I can't quite wrap my head around is how to schedule "favorites" or "season passes" whatever you want to call them. I think I figured out a way to do it, but I'm not sure if it is the proper way.

Currently I do an "Episode Search". Then I type in the name of the series I am looking for. I then get a list of results for each airing of the series. I choose one of those and set the options in the popup box. Once I am done setting the options I hit Record this Episode. I then get a message "recording failed". I then manage my recordings and I see that indeed the item is now a recurring recording. Why am I getting the failed message every time?

I think the reason you are getting the error is because of an annoyance in NextPVR, it won't record the CURRENT show, so when NEWA checks it is seeing a failure on the recording even though the recurring recording and future records are scheduled.

Also, if you had used my SageTV import utility it should have imported your Favourites as Recurring Recordings.

I haven't seen that utility. I was just trying to navigate around and figure out how things work in this web addon.

Looking at it again, I'm not sure the CURRENT show is the issue. Most of the time there is no show currently airing, and I still get the error. I remember I used to get a similar error using iNEWA, but that got fixed. I can schedule items with my iPod using the mobile version and not get that error.

I think current could be future too but I am not sure what the actual limitation is. Best to try it the "normal" way in NextPVR and see which is the first one that comes up.

I'll check that. Thank you. I'm using the XBMC addon, hopefully one day "normally" will mean scheduling favorites from in XBMC.

You should be able to set all the "normal" recurring recording options in XBMC X-NEWA XBMC users seem to be more focused on LiveTV so I expect that is where improvements will come first.

Right. I'll have to try the NEWA addon as well. I'm growing tired of dealing with Sage.
