Hi All,

I have a couple of late revision (2.8B) Technisat Skystar 2 cards with BDA driver version 4.6.0 (latest). I am seeing the same problem as others have before me in NPVR. Here's what happens:
  • Boot the PC - the first time I tune to a DVB-S channel for live TV, playback is fine.
  • Stop live TV and then select a channel to watch - picture freezes, or displays a mostly green screen.
Interestingly - If I don't actually stop live TV and change channels, everything is fine. Also, sometimes if I restart the recording service, I can get live TV working again.

Just wondering if there is anything in my logs that might give a clue as to what's going on? These logs are created fresh from the first successful playback of live TV and then the second attempt which fails.

This seems like the same problem I was experiencing a while back, as detailed in this thread.

A working solution provided by sub was to add a new option to the software as detailed here:

Quote:That said, with the attached patch, you should be able to add <TuneTwiceOnDigitalChannels>true</TuneTwiceOnDigitalChannels> to the <Recording> section of config.xml, and it'll tune twice every time it needs to submit a tuning request. See if it helps.

I have noticed that <TuneTwiceOnDigitalChannels> option is not actually in the config file after an install or upgrade and needs to added manually.

Thanks pds. To be honest, the Technisat BDA drivers are atrocious and have caused a number of blue screens on my PC. I have removed the cards from my machine for the moment. I might put them back in if Technisat ever update their BDA drivers.
