Hi everyone,

I have an RTL2832U USB DVB-T dongle, but I am having lots of difficulty getting the right drivers installed for Windows 10. The Microsoft driver included with Windows 10 seems to be broken, and all the other drivers I've tried don't seem to be compatible with Windows 10 when I try to install them using Device Manager.

I have used Zadig to install the WinUSB driver, and my dongle works with SDR# but I have been informed that these drivers won't let me watch HDTV.

All I want to do is watch TV on Windows 10. Can anyone help me find the right drivers for this?

Many thanks

Okay, after the best part of a weekend of fiddling, here is what I have discovered:

1) The drivers and software that came with my dongle on the BlazeHDTV mini CD work fine on Windows XP. I could update the driver normally from the device manager, and I could scan and tune into channels as I pleased with the BlazeHDTV software.

2) When I insert the dongle into my Windows 10 Home 64-bit laptop, it installs the Microsoft 64.1.304.2009 driver for REALTEK 2832U Device. These drivers are broken. The device appears in BlazeHDTV and SichboPVR, but scanning for channels returns nothing.

3) There are multiple newer versions of Realtek 2832U drivers that *should* work, but Windows 10 Home 64-bit refuses to install them all. See screenshot.

Its a know problem which many of us have had. Even if you install the original drivers which were supplied Windows update installs a newer broken on. There is a way to stop Update I think posted on this forum but I now don't use that tuner and don't remember the process! You certainly cannot do SDR and TV on the same computer because of the totally different drivers.

Thanks for the reply. Yes this does seem to be a known issue, and the fix appears to be to go into System -> Advanced System Settings -> Hardware -> Device Installation Settings -> No.

However, my specific problem seems to be different. I'm using Windows 10 Home 64-bit, and it flat out refuses to manually install any drivers at all. Other people seem to report their drivers will install, but Windows changes them afterwards.
