The NextPVR web server has an option for on-the-fly transcoding for live tv using a URL in the following format...

/transcode?channel=1&resolution=720x406&bitrate=900k

The question is...are there common resolutions and bitrates that people use for transcoding files (for example) that would also apply to live tv transcoding? I want to provide transcoding for nDroid and thought having a number of preset options would make sense.

Cheers,
Brian

Thanks Martin although slightly ironic that the link is to the Android reference pages which I have bookmarked and visit several times a day (although not for things like Camera or Camcorder).

What I'm really looking for is why sub used 720 x 406 @ 900kbps as example figures for the /transcode url. Personally I don't transcode anything so I'm trying to work out if there are any commonly used H x V @ B values that go together well. I'm guessing it's like asking "how long is a piece of string" but just thought I'd throw it out there.

Apologies if you have already seen them.

Thanks - they look like they contain plenty of useful information and no, I hadn't seen them - I seemed to have lost the ability to use Google last night and wasn't turning up anything of any use.

Cheers,
Brian
