DCR-2650 No Channels Found

After installing a cablecard ($1.00/mo, so not too bad), getting it activated and paired, the 2650 works like a charm.

The bonuses being many more channels (with basic cable 2650, compared to basic cable clear qam), and very very fast channel change, like 1-2sec (compared to the hvr-950q).

I am having a similar problem as the original poster. I can not get NextPVR to find any channels during a scan, and my DCR-2650's channel lineup is empty. (xml attached) I've been using this tuner with WMC for about 6 months with only the type of problems that leads someone to look for an alternative to WMC. =) WMC scanned and found channels on it's own, and I've been able to stream live and recorded TV to my xbox 360 pretty well. There have been enough hiccoughs that now I'd like to use XBMC, with a PVR addon. I've been trying NextPVR as the option suggested to be most likely to work with my DCR-2650. I'm not using a cable card, just getting the unprotected QAM channels only. (Hopefully I've got my terminology correct.)

I'd love any thoughts, ideas, or help anyone can offer on how to populate the channel list (either in NextPVR or directly within my DCR-2650) so I can continue setting up and testing XBMC.

Looks like the problem I had. I never could find any posts for people who used the 2650 as a clear qam tuner successfully. It is great with a cablecard, though.

I didn't think the DCR-2650 could do clear-QAM, but I did find one review that found that WMC would scan for the channels during setup or you could manually add channels - http://www.missingremote.com/review/haup...card-tuner

But it sounds like sub uses the channel list that the DCR-2650 provides, which I think is only populated when you use a cablecard. I don't know if there is any way to manually add channels in NPVR or not.
