Black screen, using a PS3 PlayTv tuner.

Hi all, any particular codecs i need to make this work?

I'm using a PS3 PlayTv tuner. works fine in WMC but i'd like to use it in XBMC ultimately.

Any help would be appreciated

Did you successfully scan your channels in NextPVR? If so, then it's probably just a matter of which decoders you've got set on the Settings->Decoders screen.

yeah they scanned ok, but then i only had sound and then i didn't even have that. I've tried all the different decoders it has available

What decoders did you try exactly?

If it's standard DVB-T Freeview, then it'll be the MPEG2 decoder.

If it's DVB-S Freeview, or DVB-T2, then it'll be the H.264 decoder.

i've got it all to work ok but now i can't find the nextpvr addon in xbmc!

You find it in Frodo when you enable live tv on the Setting screen.

Ok, I've got it all set up but it's really unresponsive. Channels don't change and i just get a buffering message all the time. I realise I'm probably retreading old ground but I'd love to get this sorted and this forum has already proved invaluable to me. I hope somebody can offer some advice!

Not much info there about your client I'm guessing xbmc but what about hardware, o/s or network configuration etc. Direct channel changing can be really bad in xbmc I just stop and tune a channel from the guide it really is only okay on my i7 Windows XBMC, it fails often everywhere else.

Yeah, using XBMC On windows 7 . It's a brand new build using an AMD FX 6-core processor, a Radeon HD6570 graphics card and 8GB of ram
