also sub, while I applaud the valiant, near-heroic effort of NRecord trying several times per second for an entire minute to move the recording, it seems a bit much... NRecord does everything else on a minute-basis, what does it think is going to change in the next 200ms? Maybe check just once per minute, or every 20 seconds at most?

On the other end ... IF
- you are in front of the PC and you spot that NextPVR is struggling to allocate the recording ... (1 recording to 2 recording with 3 tuners)
- and you rush to kill the recording in progress (it was boring :-) )
NextPVR see the conflict is gone and start the Recording in time ... all this in 1 minute ...
So at some point checking every 200ms is not a bad idea when NextPVR is stuck unable to honor padding.
I just hope it did not get there in the first place ;-)
