Error recording using EPG

I'd definitely recommend using DVBGuide. If you still have the problem, then you'll actually have an XMLTV file that sub can look at to determine what character(s) may be tripping up NPVR. Then you may either get a NPVR patch to fix it, or our resident sed expert (mvallevand) might give you a sed command to replace the offending characters on the fly.

oh, nevermind, I guess it would help if I actually looked at all your logs, then glaring lines like this might leap out at me:

This could be fixed with dvbguide and sed (or dvbguide may filter them itself), but I think NPVR really ought to filter out those control characters when reading the broadcast EPG data.

sub, just wondering if this thread has escaped your attention; it looks like it just needs a little input cleansing to get rid of those control codes in the titles he's getting from the dvb epg data.

It shouldn't be generating those control codes in the EPG.

To get to the bottom of it, I'd probably need a sample transport stream so I could run it up in the debugger and see why these characters are being included. lodfk could capture 1 minute full transport using tscapture from http://www.tscapture.com (free eval allows 1 minute recordings), then let me know where I could download the file from.

Thank you for your help!! I have used DBGuide and get clean version of epg xmltv file. Now it is working fine and I can record using EPG!!! Just wondering can NextPVR can parse those illegal characters.... May be some future upgrade????
