Finally trying to move off my GBPVR to NPVR. The tuner that I am using seems to be seen but is not able to detect any channels when scanning. Works just fine in the Pinnacle TV Center Software. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is the tuner that you are using actually a PCTV HD Stick or PCTV HD Ultimate Stick? (Hopefully not a PCTV Hybrid Pro Stick since you're in the USA.) Have you installed a driver that would enable it to work with software other than Pinnacle TV Center (http://www.pctvsystems.com/tabid/62/defa...ult.aspx)?

Are you trying to receive cable channels (analog and/or QAM) or over-the-air ATSC digital channels (or both)? If any of the channels that you want to receive are analog cable channels (an endangered species; cable providers are moving in an all-digital direction), did you follow the Wiki instructions at http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...geSoftPVR?

I wouldn't be surprised if NextPVR.exe, NRecord.exe and NDigitalHost.exe need to be allowed through the firewall. [Edit] What version of Windows are you running?

I have just downloaded and installed the driver specific to my device from the link provided. Not much time into it yet but appears to be no change still. I am trying to receive channels via my cable provider. Over the air will not be setup at this time. My provider is currently providing both analog and digital channels.

I am currently running this on Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit with 8 gigs of Ram. PCTV 800e is the exact model that shows in device manager. I have already downloaded the 64 bit version from the second link however I am going back over that again as well in case I have missed anything.

WinTV will not install as I do not have a Hauppauge device. I am not able to follow the second link directions due to this snag.

The directions don't actually tell you to install WinTV if you read carefully.

I see the Wiki link for Hauppauge support no longer works (http://www.hauppauge.com/site/support/su...intv7.html), and that the latest version of WinTV7 is 2.7, meaning that the bat file will need a little editing. As Martin hinted, you should Save rather than Run the installer. Here's another Wiki page that might be helpful: http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...alogDevice

Under Settings/Decoders, I'd go ahead and select Microsoft decoders for MPEG2 Video and MPEG1 Audio. (Other decoders on your system might work, or they might not.) If you can successfully scan for analog channels, try to record something (and don't despair if you still can't watch live TV). A zero-byte recording would indicate that firewall exceptions need to be created as mentioned above.

It appear4s that the batch file has already been amended for the new version by time i had gotten to it if it was not updated before hand. It appeasrs the have left a few files in the softpvr folder as the instructions outlined. I still have no change in tuner status at this point. Any further assisted will be welcomed.

The magic sauce to it all.

AnalogDevices.xml

<Device filter="PCTV 330e/800e/880e WDM 2883 Capture">
<Name>PCTV 330e/800e BDA TVTuner</Name>
<Type>SOFT_ENCODE</Type>
</Device>

This brought up a whole new tuning interface for the adapter.

Sounds good. So in Settings/Devices do you see an analog device listed now? If so, select it and click on Device Setup. Here's a helpful Wiki page: http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...etupDialog
