the LAV video decoder is not the best codec for live tv on NextPVR - if you are on W7 the Microsoft codec is good - if on XP Vista or W8 I would recommend SAF6 unlocked - PM Hoborg. The PDVD Codec with LAV Audio give very good results on both MPEG2 and H264.

Also does your Graphics Processor have enough grunt? and network throughput fast enough?
It's not an overly complicated system - it's more - overly simple operatives  Huh

Hi Bray90820, from what little you've said it's beginning to sound like a hardware issue, but more information would be helpful. Could you zip and attach your Logs folders from both the server and the client? They are typically found at C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Logs. You'll need to click "Go Advanced" and then the paperclip button to attach the zipped folders to a post. Details about your system might also be helpful.

As Lao Pan says, I would strongly recommend you to try the PDVD12 decoder. Download PowerDVD trial and you'll get the decoder with it.

Glad to hear it. BTW there's nothing wrong with the Microsoft decoder that comes with Windows 7. Vista Home Premium also had a perfectly good Microsoft MPEG2 decoder for U.S. purposes, it didn't support H.264 but hardly anyone in America has H.264 channels (yet).

The HDPVR and Colossus capture in h264 in North America, lots of us use them. In Canada there isn't a lot of choice for cable, there's really no clear QAM and CableCard is US onlly.
