Hauppauge Colossus Setup

I have switched back from HDMI to composite and SPDIF (HDMI was not working because of HDCP), the logs above are for composite and SPDIF configuration I hope... I have everything working using arcsoft including changing the channels and audio.

When i load Next PVR I get no sound and no video (black screen) and the program appears to hang.

I really appreciate all the help today from all. Should I remove the softPVR files that I created of will it be fine (just not used)??

Ok you are corrected again. In North America broadcast 720p is typically 60 fps. Some BluRay could be 24 but 30 and PAL standards are possible and valid.

I agree about confirming the defaults in setup there is a mix of VideoType 2 and 3 in the logs. I don't have a Colossus but I remember sub suggesting changing the default SD bitrates iin config.xml to match 720p or 1080i because NRecord wasn't able to detect the default setting from the STB feed.

i am not sure what to change in the config file?? I have changed SPDIF from false to true but it has had no effect.... here is what i think you are talking about in the config file...

I have changed as above but still no picture and no sound.. After trying to find a picture and sound Next PVR gives me the message "the tuner you were using was required for a recording. Would you like to switch to watching a recording, or exit back to the menu?"

Did you stop and start the recording service after making that change? Also did you follow zeb's intstruction and make sure your channel defaults are correctly setup for recording inputs they way you want them to be?

I did stop and start the service and have rebooted. After changing SPDIF from false to true, I also deleted all the channels and re-added them. The inputs are as expected composite and SPDIF. To me this appears to be a codec issue but i don't know what or how to fix it...

To confirm it is codec related and capturing is ok, create a 10 MB file and upload it somewhere like dropbox or another sharing site.

okay, I stand corrected. Any recording that I try to create no matter how long I leave it recording the size is always zero...

If it was a network device instead of a card, the only conclusion would be "firewall."

The Colossus is installed in the NPVR server, right? Are you using some sort of anti-virus firewall that we might not be familiar with? Have you ever tested the STB's component output e.g. by connecting it directly to a TV? (The dirty dogs might have disabled it I suppose.)
