Add Country and Frequencies

I am using NextPVR v2.6.2

After following the instructions here, I have added an analog device Cinergy HTC USB XS HD (It's actually Hybrid, but the analog entry did not appear, so I followed the guide and now it appears)

My problem now, is that when I try to scan for analog channels, my country Cyprus, is not listed. So I guess the frequencies are not there, so the program does not find any channels.

Is there a way to add my country, so the program can find the channels when I scan?

Thanks.

Just use the all regions, all channels setting.

I think you will be out of luck with analogue - Cyprus switched over to DVB-T in July 2011 as far as I could find with Google

It's not an overly complicated system - it's more - overly simple operatives  Huh

I am geting my signal from a local cable provider called CABLENET. They sent analog signal. Is there something i can do? There is no option for all regions all channels when scanning analog. Its a specific list of countries.

If you just do an analog scan it should find all available channels, it will be your job to find the channel names thou.

Hi aristosv. My cable is digital, but it's my understanding that you can either "Add" analog channels manually (a channel lineup from CABLENET would be helpful for that) or "Import" them from an XMLTV file. Is there a "Scan" button on the "Device Setup" page for an analog device these days? (I'm sure there is for the DVB-T device.) The Wiki page for Analog Device Setup hasn't been revised since January 2012, and thus might not accurately reflect version 2.6.2, but here's a link: http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...etupDialog

As you can se from the images below, I get a list of coutries and cable and antenna options. But each country has its own frequencies, so there's nothing that can help me do a full scan of the channels that my cable provider is giving me.

I think you will need to determine the channel-frequency relationship that your cable provider is using. Is Cyprus still divided between Turkey and Greece? (Forgive my lack world view, I'm American after all.) The frequencies might be the same as Greece or Turkey, depending on which part you are in. Or, the cable company might be using their own assignment. Perhaps they can help. Can you connect an analog TV to the cable and determine the channel numbers there? Perhaps the TV can tell you what country/frequency it is using.

To make best use of NPVR for recording TV shows, you should have an EPG. In the US, the usual way to configure analog is to create the EPG file, and then assign the channels using the guide file as input. I think this uses the Import button on the Analog Recorder Settings box. But, you need the channel to frequency translation for this to work.

I'm not sure where the country choices for analog channels come from. In the NPVR\Tuning directory there are .ini files for all forms of digital tuning, but I don't see anything there for the analog channels. This might be a table built in to Windows, or some standard table hard-coded into NPVR.

I suspect you may be fighting the wrong problem though; analog cable channels are pretty standardized, so if you've done a few scans picking countries that have similar TV systems to Cyprus and you got no channels, then something else may be wrong. Do a scan or two, then post your NPVR.log.

Good point johnson on the tuning frequencies. Probably built into Windows.

I'd try Greece, Cablenet appears to be Greek based on their website, which is pretty good and also available in English.

Read here for more info on what Windows can do for you:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/...s.85).aspx

Update after researching above:

Greece does not have a country specific frequency table in Windows. They might use Western Europe, or not. Sub has more countries in his list than MS have in theirs. Presumably he is calling the MS unicable (do-all) table for those countries without a specific table.
