XBMC NPVR Client/Server Issue

I have my home media server set up and running the Ceton Infinitv 4 USB with SageDCT 2.7.2, NPVR 2.6.2 and XBMC 12.2 (I think I got those versions right.) Currently, I can watch/record 4 different channels in XBMC on the server. However, when I am watching 1 channel on the server and I select a channel on one of the clients; the client will steal the tuner from the server. I get a "Tuner No Longer Available" message. The server can usually steal the tuner back from the client if I select a different channel on the server, but it's like the clients and the server don't know which tuner the others are using so they always take tuner #1. What do I do?

I am pretty new at this whole home server setup and npvr/xbmc. I recreated the problem and tried to post the logs, but I'm not sure I did it right. Thanks for any help!

I think sub needs to help explain what is happening It seems to check the live tv availability on 1 tuner but NRecord requests the recording on another.

Does reducing the delays from 12000 to 5000 or so make a difference?

Hm, setting the delay to 5000 allowed me to watch on separate devices, but then the channels froze on both devices after about 5 mins. That was the reason I had the delay set so high in the first place. I'll try to find a middle-ground.

Delay of 6000 appears to be the happy medium. I wouldn't have thought the delay was making that much of a difference. Thanks Martin, on to the next issue! (I think I'm having trouble getting my raspberry pi running raspbmc to display the video of live tv.)

Ok good. I suspect starting the recording blocks the service for all tuners so 10s is the max. delay. If the live tv stopped at 7 minutes it might be an issue with the rolling file otherwise I can't explain such a delayed issue.


If you can't get video on an RPi I'd start by making sure the mpeg2 license is installed correctly.
