OK I don't think this a GBPVR issue but there are so many sharp cookies here I thought I'd give it a shot. When I play a dvd in my gbpvr machine outputted to either my tv or surround speakers speech is at an incredibly low volume. I suspect I'm somehow getting 5.1 audio (or at least some of it) and the surround system is supposed to do it but I get mainly music and sound effects. (what's confusing to me is the when the sound is outputted to my tv the same thing happens, I would have thought it would have mixed it down)
Anyone out there who can assist?

BobMook:

I'm having the same woes. I've tried different DVD playback settings in the Config and have also looked for some sort of Master DVD volume setting in the Control Panel. Nothing. I also checked to make sure the the DVD sound is coming out on the Wave channel (not aux or line, or something off-the-wall).

If I playback with PowerDVD, the volume is perfect. GB-PVR, however, has low, low, low volume. I have to crank up the Wave, and Master, and the volume on my speakers to hear anything. Right now, I'm set to "default."

Perhaps SUB can point us in the right direction. Big Grin

You havnt turned the volumn down in GB-PVR? During playback, press and hold the right arrow.

Nope. In fact, I have the Bloop plug-in and if I hit the up/down arrows on the remote, the sound it high enough to blow an ear drum. Smile

My guess is that it's DVD driver related. I'm planning on doing a clean install on the box anyway, so the problem may go away. We'll see.
