Confused about Schedules Direct and UpdateEPG.bat

Ok....newbie here.

Have version 2.6.2 installed. Have channels mapped via a subscription to Schedules Direct. Since NextPVR has integrated support, is an UpdateEPG.bat needed? If not where in the config do I make the necessary settings?

No, you do not need an UpdateEPG.bat.

So the settings are controlled on thr Misc2 tab? How many days worth ofdata does it download?

By default 8, but you can update this value in config.xml to the SD maximum 14 days if you want.

<SchedulesDirectDays>8</SchedulesDirectDays>

Is there a specific area in the config.xml where this entry should be placed?

The value is already there, just update it. I think it's in the <General> section, though I haven't looked lately.

Edit the existing entry and restart the recording service.
