Usually very reliable when setting to record a film in the small hours.

This time it crashed ten minutes into it

I would be grateful if someone could explain why

Here are the logs


The film started at 23:45 on 9 September. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated

Looks like an EPG update was scheduled before the film ended, disrupting the recording: 2013-09-10 02:02:33.088 [DEBUG][8] Updating EPG...

You can change EPG Update Hour on NextPVR's Settings->Misc2 page. I'm not really sure why you only got 10 minutes of useful recording.

Thanks for the explanation. It only recorded the first ten minutes. I have now set the EPG for 05:56. Highly unlikely that I will be recording anything at that hour.

no idea why your recording stopped after only 10 minutes. all the logs say the recording was completed, absolutely nothing happened as far as NPVR is concerned that would have shortened the recording. All I can surmise from the available information is that your tuner simply stopped delivering data.

It had nothing at all to do with the EPG update either - that didn't start until 2:02am, and ran on the other tuner until 2:07am when it switched to the same tuner as the recording but didn't disrupt the recording because it used multi-record to pull listings from the same frequency. Data was delivered then though, which begs the question of why nothing was being recorded... whatever went wrong though looks like it was outside of NPVR's control.

Do you still have the problem file? It would be very interesting to see what the Timing.Info file shows.

Ok. This is bizarre now. I did a test recording and it captured the main event :O)..........but the other recordings did not work. The recordings page says 'device failed to start'..........but it recorded the main film so it seems a bit contradictory. Here are the logs
