Selecting Channel in the Guide has Popup Starting Small

If I select a channel in the guide, the popup starts small until I press the side button or another button. Pretty annoying since I can't figure out whats going on. I'm a newb so I've searched and searched to no avail. Any help is appreciated!!

If you go to the Settings->About page, is there a message saying "WARNING: The DirectX runtime is not available on this machine. Software rendering instead."?

Yep. Does this mean I should download DirectX from somewhere?

I did end up downloading DirectX and it seems to be working now!! Thank you very much for your help!
