cant view a channel because it cant get guide data

I can't get android to download program data from the server. The server shows the full guide so I know its there yet when I try to view it on any of my android devices it just keeps circling over and over. Because of this I can't view a single channel. What should I do? Am I missing a port open for guide data or what? BTW we are making a connection to the server for channels.

nDroid uses port 8790 for all data downloads (channel names, epg etx) and for sending commands (recording requests / cancellations etc). As long as tha port is open it should work. NOTE: simply creating a rule for the nDroidService.exe doesn't always work and it's better to explicitly allow 8790 (and 8791 for streaming recordings, videos and music).

If you zip and attach the nDroid Service logs I'll take a look.

Ahh OK that makes sense. I switched my port to 10200 so I removed the old port numbers. Yea I always go by port not program because km just anal like that. Let me see if that fixes it.

Ok that fixed the issue with the guide, thanks much! Now the live TV won't play. What logs do you need and at what point? Right after I hit play?

OK, glad the port issue has fixed the download.

As for Live TV, the nDroid app connects to the NextPVR web server. In that case, whatever port you set for that (check the npvr Settings) needs to be open. If you change the npvr web port number you need to restart the nDroid Service and re-download the data files (the download contains a zipped version of the npvr config.xml file used to get the npvr web port).

It seems was adding my post at the same time you were posting your logs. BTW, it's easier to zip the logs folder (s) and then when replying select "Go Advanced" and use "Manage attachments" to attach the zip file.

As I said in the above post, Live TV is handled by the npvr web server and I have no control over that. Looking at your logs though, it looks like the connection got through and npvr attempted to stream.

Perhaps the media player app on your Android app couldn't handle the stream. All I can suggest is to try some different apps.

Results will vary depending on a number of factors...

TV standard (ATSC in your case if I'm right), whether it's HD or SD, network speed / reliability, hardware capabilities of npvr server and Android device etc etc.

I find MX Player works fairly well for UK SD DVB-T channels but some channels can be problematic.
