No more cyg dll's needed
Quicktime added as input.
mpeg added as output. (sometimes works)

I can't see that post in the announcements, it looks like everything older than a month gets wiped. Do you have a permanent page for this?

I'm thinking that combining your tool with an AVISynth script created from the massaged output of comskip will allow me to convert to divx and remove commecials in one fell swoop.

by default it only shows a month. If you go into a section look at the very bottom it says from change it from last month to year.

Or search.

Cool thanks I found it, seems to work well. cut my kids Thomas the Train videos in half and they still look great.

One thing I'd like to do is run things through avisynth (http://www.avisynth.org) to trim out the commercials using the output from comskip with mencoder but it seems to have an issue.

I'm not sure if the issue is with mencoder seeing an extension it doesn't recognise and quitting or if it's not getting a good stream from avisynth, here's the output I get:

Code:
MEncoder 1.0pre7-3.4.2 (C) 2000-2005 MPlayer Team
CPU: Intel Pentium 4/Xeon/Celeron Foster (Family: 8, Stepping: 9)
Detected cache-line size is 64 bytes
CPUflags: Type: 8 MMX: 1 MMX2: 1 3DNow: 0 3DNow2: 0 SSE: 0 SSE2: 0
Compiled with runtime CPU detection - WARNING - this is not optimal!
To get best performance, recompile MPlayer with --disable-runtime-cpudetection.
File not found: 'frameno.avi'
Failed to open frameno.avi
success: format: 0  data: 0x0 - 0x49
============ Sorry, this file format is not recognized/supported =============
=== If this file is an AVI, ASF or MPEG stream, please contact the author! ===
Cannot open demuxer.

I'm not sure what it's refering to "frameno.avi" the avs file I'm trying it this "test.avs", here's what it looks like, just a quick file for POC on a 5 minute Thomas video.
Code:
DirectShowSource("Thomas & Friends_20050718_14551500.mpg", fps=29.73)
Trim(0,500)+Trim(700,900)
if anyone has tried something similar I'd be interested in chatting with them.

Why didn't you do it the other way?
First run comskip, use virtualdupmpg to cut out the commercials and then run mencoder?

I've never heard of virtualdupmpg. Big Grin Now that I have I'll have to look for it and use it.

Thanks! Smile

Hey Superdad I look forward to seeing this all bundled!! It would be nice to have the options of selecting quality & size too. Perhaps, it could come with a stand-alone gui so that one could customize the configuration Smile
