New to the forum. New to HTPC setup. I just got rid of satellite. I'm getting ready to build a NextPVR system.

I have a 2011 Samsung UN55D7000LF. Love it. I've verified I can log in as Develop and get the IP address prompt.

I hope you're able to get this working with the 2011s. I'll await instructions.

sorry, the 2011 devices arent supported and won't be. The browser on them is too old and doesnt support all the javascript functions I require.

Hi,

I'm using a number of clients through the years starting with GBPVR and afterwards moved to NPVR.
The clients go from the old MediaMVP over the Popcorn devices to the NDroid app on a Samsung Android Tablet.
I was thinking to buy a HDMI Androidstick to put NDroid on my Samsung ES8000 TV but it seems that this app does it all.
My Samsung ES8000 meets the prerequisites although finding the menu for the Server IP address was a bit different as described.
I had to sign in with user & password = develop to finally find the Server IP option under Tools within Smarthub.
I would be more than happy to participate in testing the app so please let me know whether this is an option Y/N?

PS: Any progress in getting the app available via the Samsung Smart TV App Store?

When do you expect this to be available for the general public? Also, do you expect it to support plugins (or does it just naturally do that based on the API you are using)? Thanks.
My Plugins: PhotoFilter, MusicMonkey, Windows Desktop Gadget

not sure when it will be available to the general public, no clue how long samsung will take to accept it into their store or even if they will.

it wont support plugins.

You probably are thinking of fred250's client for the LG and possibly other platforms, which uses sub's touch/webclient interface. Plugins are supported but work in progress you'd get an idea with x-newa Chameleon.

My reasoning for not really addding plugins (i could add plugins, just would have to be written in javascript) is theres already apps that are much better for things you want plugins todo. eg.
- Plex for media, rather than a videos type plugin
- Netflix, theres a netflix app
- Hulu, theres a hulu app
- Vudu, theres a vudu app

Changing apps on the samsung device is pretty fast, so going from nextpvr to netflix only takes a few seconds and only 2-4 button presses.

That makes sense about not supporting plugins. I am still considering eventually getting a Samsung blu-ray player to try this out. Will there be a way for people not in the beta to access this if Samsung never adds it to the app store?
