please .zip the log and attach it. It looks like there's a trailing space in your capture device name, but that might have been added by the forum software.

Hi,

I was able to resolve this by adding the following entry:

<Device filter="713x BDA Analog Capture ">
<Name>713x Analog 2</Name>
<Type>SOFT_ENCODE</Type>
</Device>

Though not sure why, but by adding a space after the device name did the trick Smile

Now that the device is showing and when I try to scan the channels, I get another error Sad

Code:
See the end of this message for details on invoking

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Could the trailing space be the root of the AccessViolationException I am getting?

Not likely. Zip and post your npvr.log as I said before, the exception text does not give any information from npvr itself.

Apparently you'r missing an MPEG2 audio encoder, are you sure that the soft pvr installation went ok?

It did went fine and no errors came either. I also uninstalled it completely and then reinstalled as well but still the same. Is there any manual way of adding the MPEG2 audio encoder?

You can move the SoftPvr directory to a safe location (not under windows folder) and run C:\windows\system32\regsvr32.exe on all the .ax files in the SoftPvr directory. If you are running 64 bit windows the regsvr32.exe may be found under the SYSWOW64 folder.
