Im am running Nextpvr and using NEWA and XBMC. On the PC thats running NPVR I have a strange problem and Ive not been able to fine anything in the forum that addresses it. I can watch over the LAN with NEWA or XBMC and get perfect video and audio. I can play recordings over the LAN and video and audio are perfect. My problem is with the computer that NPVR is installed on. On live TV or the recordings when trying to play back I get good picture and audo but there is a vertical yellow stripe in the center of the video window. I have tried every combination of decoders/encoders/renderer that I can it its still the same problem (only on that one computer). The OS is Windows 7 and the graphics card is intel onboard. Im using a Hauupage 950 and looking at analog cable. Its obvious its somethingwrong with the display adapter or display on that one computer because using NEWA over the LAN I can see live or recorded TV all OK, but I have never been able to fix it. Does anyone have any idea what could cause this yellow vertical stripe in the video window when I go LIVE or playing back a recording????? Thanks for any help.

Hello kh6gmp, on NextPVR's Settings->Decoders page what decoder is currently selected for MPEG2 Video? My only hunch is that it's a trial version that adds a yellow stripe because the full version isn't free, maybe part of some codec pack that you installed. This would not affect your XBMC client because it has its own decoders. Anyway, with Windows 7 I would suggest selecting Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder for MPEG2 and EVR for Video Renderer. If that doesn't help, please zip and attach your NPVR Logs folder (C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Logs).

Thank you Zeb for the reply, I was previously using VMR9 Custom and had MPEG-2 disabled and H264 as Microsoft DTV-DVD etc etc but As I said there was no problem using XBMC or NEWA from other computers on the LAN. Yellow only appeared on the machine Im running NPVR on. I changed to your recommendations, still the same, yellow stripe on the machine Im running NPVR on but cant go with XMBC or NEWA on machine over the LAN and everything is fine. Its been that way with almost every settings of 'decoders' Ive used. I have zipped the Logs folder and have an image of the yellow stripe

Is this yellow stripe there only when you play npvr recordings? Or is it there when you play some other video as well? I'd say it looks to me like some malfunction in the graphic onboard card.

For other video recordings - To tell the truth I never tried anything other than the .TS that NPVR makes. I just tried a .wmv file and I found that the same vertical stripe is there. Doe the same with VLC media player and Windows Media Player.

SOLVED SOLVED: I think Ive solved the problem. It involved drivers, was using XP drivers in Windows 7, I uninstalled the adapter and rebooted and it found drivers for standard vga adapter. Then I installed the KLite codec package, It gave me all kinds of options and I didnt know what I was doing but ended up that now the WMV files play with VLC or Windows Media Player with no yellow stripe, And the NPVR recordings play with no yellow stripe. All seems OK now so thanks to everyone for reading my post and the replies. I guess can consider this closed now.
Thank you and ALOHA
