can you double check the service_listings.xml file, its cut off halfway, which might be the reason for it failing....
I've attached again the service_listings 2.xml file for today which was taken with MS Internet Explorer. Additional I did the same with Chrome and Opera and they've reported some errors (see attached listings 3-4).
As well NEWA TV Guide as EPG on a NMT client are working normally so maybe something XBMC related or something with NPVR settings or the URL I'm using? I have no idea how to tackle this.

I've looked a bit deeper into the error reported by the Opera Browser pointing at the character "&" in line 252: <genre>Music & Arts</genre>
Full message from Opera: XML-verwerking mislukt XML-verwerking mislukt: syntaxfout (Regel: 252, Karakter: 16) Document als HTML verwerken Fout: invalid entity reference Specificatie http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-xml/#NT-EntityRef 249: <start>1383068100000</start> 250: <end>1383069600000</end> 251: <firstrun>true</firstrun> 252: <genre>Music & Arts</genre> 253: </l> 254: <l> 255: <id>6424893</id> Looking at the EPG.xml content (see attachment post 14) I found multiple strings which looks similar as shown in the following program listing (one of many): <programme start="20131031160000 +0100" stop="20131031170000 +0100" channel="I133250.754708.microsoft.com"> <title lang="nl">Get the Clip</title> <desc lang="nl">Muziekprogramma.</desc> <date>20110411</date> <category lang="be">Music & Arts</category> <category lang="be">Series</category> <category lang="be">Varia</category> <language>nl</language> <length units="minutes">90</length> <episode-num system="ms_progid">12.29033274</episode-num> </programme> Could this string be a problem for the Samsung App? <category lang="be">Music & Arts</category> I can try to replace it and reload the EPG without "&" in the string if you think this helps. Maybe if you load the EPG.xml from post 14 into your NPVR test environment you can simulate the error?

This patch should fix it.

Tadaaa ... it works !
I've replaced NShared.dll on the NPVR server in folders \Users\Public\NPVR\Web\Bin and \Program Files\NPVR as I found it in both folders. The Samsung App for NPVR loads correctly now and the TV guide shows the correct program listings after adjusting the TV klok settings. So finally problem solved and the app testing can begin. Thanks everyone in walking me through this troublesome startup process. Much appreciated. PS: Some get all the fun, others don't (Thanks Sub ... wink wink ... Martin).

As the Samsung app is working now I've tried a couple of things and found some limitations for which I have a couple of questions:
1)For playback of recordings, is there a button on the TV remote, or wireless USB keyboard connected to the TV, which can force the Samsung app to toggle the aspect ratio between Auto, Pillar Box and Center Cut? Depending on the type of recording, analoge or digital, I have to switch between aspect ratios to get a correct full screen picture. 2) When selecting a program listing from the TV guide, selecting Quick Record the TV guide indicates recording (program listing marked RED). When some time later I hit return on the TV remote to exit the TV guide and afterwards I go back in the TV guide the recording has stopped before end time. It seems when selecting Quick Record the recording goes just to the point where I hit the TV remote return button to exit the TV guide. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? 3) When I have selected the TV guide the program listings starts with the first channel on top of the screen. When I select the cursor to go up I would expect that the last channels from the list would become visible. Instead the TV guide seems to jump back about 10 channels without showing the channels at the end of the list and only when I then press the cursor down I see my last channels in the TV guide. Is this normal? So far everything runs and that's already good news.

Quote:1)For playback of recordings, is there a button on the TV remote, or wireless USB keyboard connected to the TV, which can force the Samsung app to toggle the aspect ratio between Auto, Pillar Box and Center Cut?no, it just uses samsung player which should have the video at the correct aspect ratio, ive never experienced any wrong aspect ratios (I havent heard anyone else mention this either). Quote:2) When selecting a program listing from the TV guide, selecting Quick Record the TV guide indicates recording (program listing marked RED).how it should work is, hit "quick record" or pushing "red"/"record" on the remote should send a request to the nextpvr server, saying basically "quick record listing id: 123", thats it. ill look into this, the recording stuff isnt yet complete, and i need to refactor some code to make the schedule editor work within the tv guide and within the "recordings" screen (as you can update schedules there). Quote:3) When I have selected the TV guide the program listings starts with the first channel on top of the screen. When I select the cursor to go up I would expect that the last channels from the list would become visible.this sounds like a bug, ill take a look at this hopefully sometime this week.
Hi reven,
as for the aspect ratio, I only have a problem when playing TS recording which where recorded from the analog channels (720x576). Digital channels display full screen correctly (720p). I have that analoge ratio problem on both Samsung TV's and my NMT Popcorn. One TV is connected via HDMI to the NextPVR server and the new one ES8000 uses your app. The NMT is on a projector. In NextPVR you can force the aspect ratio with keyboard or remote control and on the NMT I have a zoom button which does the same. For analoge I need Center Cut ratio. Digital is on AUTO. As such I can select on the NPVR HDMI TV and NMT the correct aspect ratio to change it for watching full screen analoge recordings. Afterwards I can change it back to AUTO again when watching a digital recording. Sometimes with very old movies I use Pillar Box. It all depends in what resolution the recording or movie is encoded. On the ES8000 you can change the display modus from Original over Setting 1 to Advanced but this is only available when viewing a recording or movie directly via DLNA over the network without using NPVR. When playing an analoge recording via your app the image is horizontally stretched to full screen but vertically it is not full screen (= squeezed cirkel) As such the TV doesn't give me much options to change the aspect ratio and certainly has limitations for doing it correctly so I was hoping you had somehow the possibility just like the NextPVR NMT client to change aspect ratio via remote control. PS: I've logged some months ago a ticket for video format playback problems on TS files in 720P (don't play very smooth) with the ES800 at Samsung support but they are not very co-operating and I'm still waiting for further news. They just refer to the manual for the playback formats they support but they never say if it will play smoothly. MKV and AVI on this resolution play smooth (strange). It's a pitty I can't record NPVR digital recordings in something else but TS format. Anyway that's another topic and has nothing to do with the aspect ratio. It just indicates how much to expect from Samsung support. In the NPVR client settings via config.xml you can specify which aspect ratios should be available for a specific client (NMT or MVP). Not sure if this also exists for XBMC clients? Watching a wrong aspect ratio image is not much fun so if you would like to take such an option into consideration, if technical feasable, that would be great. Brgds. |
