yea, me too, but i'm getting errors importing some of my files, it can't read the audio if glitches in start of file..
even tried the beta..[tsmuxer, and also tsremux]

ffmpeg works but it's slowwwwww.. [even just a remux] ~140fps [10 times slower than remuxers]
tho it's definitely the best at accepting all input files..Smile

Sub, how can i tell if RecordingDirectoryTranslation is working? In logs it looks like not translating anything when playing from client..
If it is, can you have it allow other filetypes to work besides .ts? [specifically .mpg]
since it's not streaming, i figured it would play as if from video library..is this wrong?

I don't remember very much about it. It's been a very long time since I looked at it.

From memory, you can have something like this on the client:

<RecordingDirectoryTranslation>D:\Temp~\\someserver\someshare</RecordingDirectoryTranslation>

Then when the client tries to play a recording, it'll try to translate any recordings names that start with D:\Temp to instead start with \\someserver\someshare. ie a recording the server knows as D:\Temp\TestRecording.ts would be translated to \\someserver\someshare\TestRecording.ts. If the client can see a file with that translated name, then it'll play that, instead of trying to use the normal .ts client/server streaming. In theory you can use this to play recprdings of non-standard-recording file types like mpg/mp4/mkv etc. You may need to make sure the case is correct in the strings that'll be translated.

That said I recommend you just stick with .ts files if you're doing client/server. I'm not going to put any effort into getting other file types working over client/server.

no go Sad
But when i edit path with correct \\server\path in db directly, it plays! Smile
so i know it must not be working...

i pasted path from db and still no go...any ideas?
maybe need trailing '\' ? would really appreciate this feature, as it seems to take much less network bandwidth..

logs show trying castle with translation, then same show after edit database to have net path..
db net path played fine, translated one just shows 0:00 and black screen....
i have <RecordingDirectoryTranslation>E:\mpg~\\PVR2\e\mpg</RecordingDirectoryTranslation>
in config..
[matching database case]

Try it with this patch. It adds some logging around the translated path stuff.
