Tuner work on another machine on win 7 without problem, on the vista machine, tuner wont work, error message: "The tuner you were using was required for a recordng. WOuld you like to switch to watching a recording, or exit back to the menu?" only option given is "exit back to menu" also on the vista gathering channels take forever (like 4 hours) and in the end the program crashes. I had to import channels from the Win 7 machine, this is more than likely just me though.

I haven't recorded anything, as far as I know. all I did was click "live TV" and when that didnt work, went to program guide and tried from there.

Updated the latest patch from sticky.

Nrecord.exe not running in task manager when NPVR.exe is started (it should right??) so did the command prompt "nrecord run" thing, attached the command prompt log in zip, also attached npvr log folder from C:\Users\Public\NPVR

deleted ipv6 from hosts file in system32\drivers\etc

Tried turning firewall off (zonealarm), same thing. Have allowed all the npvr programs to accept connections etc but have not opened specific ports (I don't know how and shouldn't allowed programs be able to do this by itself anyway??)

No idea what to do. Please help me.

My backend runs Vista just fine, but it looks like you have missed installing the tuner's BDA drivers

2013-12-13 14:48:34.252 [DEBUG][4] No BDA capture filter for this device

Hmm, I did install the driver from the cd, then had problems with another dvb software, uninstalled and reinstalled (automatically, but not from cd) it's there in device manager though and in NPVR devices

Yes NPVR works on 32-bit Vista, but I'm not familiar with your tuner. One thing: Some of your earlier logs showed you were using a CyberLink Video Decoder. You should definitely keep that one selected for H.264 video and not the LAV Video Decoder shown in your more recent logs, which absolutely won't work with NPVR for H.264 (and I recall sub saying that MPEG2 isn't used in NZ). Unlike Windows 7, Vista's Microsoft decoders did not support H.264. If your Windows 7 machine is also 32-bit, the same tuner driver version would quite possibly work on both. [Edit] Of course some Vista systems might not meet hardware requirements for HD.
