God I love GBPVR.
What is the best way to get all UK TV listings including all the NTL or Sky channels? Bleb has a lot, but not all, and not UK Living so I can't record Most Haunted [Image: biggrin.gif]
I am currently using XMLTV from command line to download the listings, but they're not as 'pretty' (channel logo-wise) as Bleb and not as automatic either!
Is it possible to set GBPVR to automatically update itself whenever it's chosen XMLTV file updates?

Thanks!

GB-PVR updates the EPG at 3:00AM (configurable in next release), so just schedule you XMLTV to produce the files before this time, and GB-PVR will automatically pick up the new file.

You can manually download channel icons for all your channels and place them in the in the c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\media\ChannelLogos folder.

a) Cool, that's really REALLY handy
b) Wow, quick reply
c) I love you for making GB-PVR
d) goto c)

As soon as I have my USB-UIRT received and set up and it all works, this guy deserves some serious donation. Support is second to none, quality of program I haven't found anywhere else. Truly superb. And even has patience with the utterly ignorant. Brilliant.
One quick other question.. if I get USB-UIRT, would I need Girder to change channels, and operate other devices (like an amp, for example)?
Thanks again!

I was going to ask if there was a way of doing exactly that (with the channel logo's) but thought I would be asking too much!!
Sigh. Never underestimate the power of the GB-PVR.
What does the 'GB' in 'GB-PVR' stand for anyway?
Thanks AGAIN!

No you wont need to girder. GB-PVR directly uses the USB-UIRT.

GB is my initials. Yes, not very creative. It was only ever going to be working name, but I never got around to changing it to something cool. Now its kind of stuck.

Ah, I love those words... I'm secretly saving up for a replacement motherboard and CPU for my HTPC. The wife will kill me if I spend any more money on these "toys".

"toys"?!? Hmph!
GB-PVR sounds cool, it sound professional, anything else and you run the risk of it sounding cheesy, or 'just another PVR software' kind of thing.
lol I think I need some new RAM and a CPU for mine... I built it on what I had lying around:- an AMD Duron 750MHz and (it get's better) 128MB SDRAM. GB-PVR pauses and plays back a lot smoother than WinTV ever did though! I am but a poor student, so I'm trying to do things on the cheap a little! I even resorted to selling no longer needed Scart cables of my dads on eBay to try to fund this little project! And it was me and my girls 12 month yesterday, so my wallet really lost it's grip on reality then.
So with GB-PVR I can send a signal from my HTPC to USB-UIRT to turn the volume down on the amp, then change channel and then turn on the Video (don't know why I'd bother with the last though!Wink. Reason I ask is this:
I have spent a lot of money and effort building a nice surround sound system with a nice amp (ok, that was my dads, so it was free [Image: smile.gif]), nice speakers (my brothers, so £20 for the pair... but the cables were the killer cost!Wink and now a lot of effort and some reasonable money on an HTPC. I have noisey git housemates who moan at me for spending money on the whole set up and go on about how what a waste of time it is and then like to use it, if you know what I mean... and the tele is in the room below me (one, Andi, is 23, graduate of Bio-Genetics and he religiously watches Heman everyday VERY loudly!??).
I have a sneaky plan to Remote Desktop into the HTPC and turn the volume down a little when I'm trying to sleep or work..! Sneaky I know but if I ask they just won't do!
If GB-PVR enables me to do this, I think I'm going to knight you. If I could.
I shall donate, but I can't give much... yet, when I graduate though and actually earn some money (if GB-PVR is still going, but it's only a year away so I should imagine/hope so!Wink I shall certainly make a much more... generous offering!
Seriously, this program is so bloody good, it does EVERYTHING, and I am a man of my word! Mind you, I have a song coming out on an album next month (only on a magazine, but still! There's a donate button on my website too!Wink, so if I'm a millionairre by Christmas, I'll donate you £1000 [Image: tounge.gif]
No, really.

You cant do this at this stage, but'll see if I can add something for a later release.
