Howdy,

Long time SageTV user here trying out NextPVR for the first time. Still getting used to things, but pleased so far.

One thing I couldn't find in any of my searches was how to tell NextPVR that a recording is wrong and didn't get the show I wanted (due to scheduling issue, prior sports game ran long, etc). Basically I want to delete the recording and remove the entry from the history so that the recurring recording will pick it up the next time it airs (often episodes are repeatedly aired so it's not usually a problem). SageTV has a "Recording Error" option that does exactly this, but I can't find anything in NextPVR's interface.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Edit: Running 3.1.1 with the latest patches

We don't have an equivalent. In fact, I think you're the first person that has ever asked about something like this.

You can get it to forget all recorded history, but not for just a single recording.

In this case it was the DST time change in the US that threw off the OTA Canadian schedule (they haven't changed yet). A show from Canada recorded the hour before it actually aired (not NextPVR's fault).

It's nice when you can delete all traces of the recording and just let the recurring scan catch the next airing automatically. I'm surprised it hasn't been suggested before.

Consider this a feature request. Sometimes its these small things that make a product stand out.

Thanks for your time.

We changed too and my Schedules Direct EPG had the correct times after my Sunday update.

Sorry, I just verified which show recorded (not whether Canada went into DST). Given that, I believe my EPG update time combined with the DST change caused the incorrect recording. Thanks for letting me know!

Regardless, recordings do occasionally get the wrong show. If it's not this, then it could be a government broadcast or some event that causes your local news to cut in.

I just feel that TV fans (NextPVR's target users) would care that a show was missed and would prefer to let the PVR find the next airing vs. having to search for it manually.

I am almost positive I made a similar request after a Nascar rain delay caused a bogus recording of Alcatraz that wasn't repeated in the guide period. I could have changed the rule to not record new only, but since deleting the deleted program table is deadly. I manually removed the bad entry.

I added this to the Wishlist last May:
BrettB Wrote:Every once in a while, what actually gets recorded doesn't match the guide data/what was supposed to be recorded. This situation can happen when the station makes a last minute change (like "breaking news" as was the case with the Boston bombing recently) or (as happened to me earlier this week) if the cable company decides to move around the channels. (Or for other reasons, I'm sure you can think of more. Smile )

Anyway, when this situation occurs, I would like to have a menu option that would remove the guide data program from the already recorded history. That way if/when the episode actually airs or re-airs, it would get recorded rather than skipped because NPVR thinks it already recorded it.

If I may ask, what did you use to "manually removed the bad entry". Which SQLite editor and what table? I've been resisting going to that level but if it's necessary I don't mind. Thanks!

My favourite SQL editor is https://code.google.com/p/sqlite-manager/ and I have no idea why it's a Firefox plugin. The table is called "recently_deleted" and I think that I might know why.
