sub Wrote:OK, we'll that would be a significant factor in your setup not being able to play AVI files. This filter was installed on my machine when I installed the Hauppauge MVP software.

Try uninstalling the Hauppauge MVP software and reinstalling the newest version from ftp://ftp.shspvr.com/download/mediamvp/m....23196.exe and let me know if this installs the filter for you.

Found out why the Mainconcept filters weren't here... They are erased by the PVR-250 drivers install procedure...

Another funny side error is if you have a "Subtitles" subdirectory and DirectVobSub installed, graphedit shows that it calls directvobsub automatically, which causes Trans2MVP to crash just after the "rendering pin"

I can't believe how windows architecture makes rendering a freaking MPEG4 that complex....

I just tried an AVI file with srt subtitle file using DirectVobSub, and it seemed to work for me. I even got the subtitles showing up on the MVP.

In an attempt to take some of the variables out of the equation, I've made a few changes to trans2mvp.exe. If you're having problems playing AVI/WMV files, can you please try the attached version and let me know if there is any improvement.

I recommend try with the 'use ffdshow with transcode' config setting both off and on.

Thanks Sub, will try it out later tonight.
By the way, after reinstalling directvobsub, it works now. Weirdness!

I swear I really wanted to test it.... But my wife stole my MVP. I made the mistake of telling her she could watch her law & order and skip the commercials, now I'm MVP-less

Sub, I must say you have done some great work on this module! Your very valuable time is much appreiciated by everyone.

I have read through all of this posts from beginning to end every word. The post you gave on a link to the Beta 2.5 server side software was very helpful, thanks Big Grin

The software you are writing is much better than the Hauppauge software with excepting to the Divx/AVI support as you are well aware. I would be willing to devote some of my time to helping you with this matter. The 2.5 software link plays divx perfectly on my system (2.02 Ghz Athlon, 512MB DDR RAM).

Your software plays my divx files but some are moved off center of the screen and the audio is sometimes slow to start but is in sync!

I use Dr. Divx or the new Divx Create Bundle to make all of my Divx files available from DIVX.COM. I have the latest divx codec, the latest AC3 codec, and the latest LAME MP3 codec installed.

If there is any way I can help you find out what Hauppauge is doing in their code to accomplish this I would be glad to help, just let me know. Wink

Thanks for all your hard work on this module, coding can be a pain when you are searching for what is already there...

That's because your video isn't in 640*480 or 352*240. Those are the only 2 that the MVP doesn't try to letter box (as far as I know).

When I use the Hauppauge BETA 2.5 software I have no problems playing Divx files reguardless of the resolution or size.

I would like to help come up with a solution that allows GB-PVR to do the same thing. I am not willing to sacrafice resolution when I do not have to.

It must be possible to telnet or something into the MVP, do you think any information could be gained from this?
