Displayed time 1 hour out now we're in "summer time"

But this stuff is universal - there shouldn't be any situation when a piece of technology doesn't know when it should be using DST in any particular country / timezone.

The post from martint123 was 5th April but we switched to BST in the UK at 1am on the 29th March nearly a week earlier and his next post was 7th April and it still wasn't right.

Waiting over a week to correct the time isn't good - something is broken.

i never said something wasnt broken, i said there is a bug. if it was still incorrect when using server time, then yes I need to fix that. however, the fact that it happened at DST changeover made me believe it could be incorrect DST for the device and would hopefully correct itself in a week or two (which it did).

im a solo dad, most of my free time is spent with my son, my down time i jungle between what im enjoying, last couple of months i was doing an arcade cabinet, before that was some PS4 games, now im going to do some building around the house and i just put together a gaming pc for steam.

if something was seriously broken i would fit it in, but currently the app is working mostly (theres the annoying delete issue, but thats not a showstopper IMO), i did look at the upgrade issue for 3.2.9 when i heard about it, and talked to sub about fixing it, so we got that resolved quickly.

i have the week after easter off, so might look at the delete issue then. the fact theres nothing on NZ tv atm to watch, means im not using the app at all which also slows development down. over NZ winter I should be pretty active on development.

im also wanting to checkout dartangular and see if i can improve the app using that.

if i was heavily active on development, i would be charging for the app already

Not always - they changed the algo for summer time a few years ago so that European countries changed on the same day rather than a week apart.
Easy enough to use an old routine and not see the problem when you live on the other side of the planet.

DST/Summer time problems crop up year after year on here with EPG and/or whatever getting caught out. I can only say I'm glad I don't live near a timezone boundary in the USA and get my signals from both sides!

I wasn't pointing fingers and as a coder I use "broken" to be synonymous with there being a bug.

My point was I can understand a DST changeover for the UK being done on the wrong Sunday in March but not for it fixing itself in April - it just seems weird.

I appreciate coding for different timezones and factoring in DST is a PITA - it has given me some serious headaches on many occasions.

My point about it being universal was simply that all of the "standards" (for want of a better word) should be available to pretty much all bits of technology.

I experience the same problem and the strange thing is that in the Samsung NPVR app in the right upper corner the clock time was shown correctly but the EPG listings were shifted with -1 hour.
I think it could has something to do with the TV clock settings where the parameters timezone and DST (summer time) come into account with the GMT or NPVR server time settings.
If I disable in the Samsung NPVR client the NPVR time server and then start playing with the TV clock, timezone and DST settings (TV clock can be set to manual, GMT +1/+2 etc, and DST ON/OFF) you can get the Samsung NPVR app EPG listing the same with the upper right clock display.
Ofcourse I would expect the app to take the correct time from the NPVR server (when enabled) and calculate the correct offset for TV clock settings on timezone + DST but for the moment it didn't.
I'll wait a couple of days if it solves itself as mentioned in the above replies.
Still it might be good to have a deeper look in the way how the app handles EPG clock and program listings together with the TV settings for timezone and DST in combination with the auto NPVR server time retrieval.
Just my 5 pence for what I understand what's going on (if my analysis is correct ?).

yes, BBC News at 6 is still shown as 5pm on my BD-F6500.

If I turn off the setting "Use Server Time" then the time stamp in the top right corner is wrong (one hour late) as well.
N.B. the PLEX app shows a time which is one hour fast.
If I set the Samsung time to GMT+1 (there is no reference to BST) then the NPVR time is correct and the EPG etc is displayed correctly. (the PLEX time is now two hours fast).
