Version control / repository software for VS Express

I've always just used Acronis to backup my VS project folders in case I seriously mess up any code files and I need to backtrack and start again (doesn't happen often but I've done it a few times over the years).

For Android / Java development I use Eclipse IDE which has a GIT style plugin and I'm wondering if there are any similar solutions for VS2010 Express that anyone would recommend.

I've always just used subversion (and TortoiseSVN within explorer) to manage things. I can't be bothered with git - getting too set in my ways these days

Thanks Iain. I remember looking at those a few years back but had a problem (can't remember what). Perhaps I'll have another look. As for git, the EGit plugin for Eclipse is quite easy to use with a local repository (i.e., directory on the local hard disk) - possibly a bit more of a faff if I wanted to use something like GitHub though.
