rename recordings request(manually rename and keep file in database)

Could I use rename recordings to manually rename a file and keep all of GBPVR's data about it intact? I rename all of Star Trek, and Star trek Next Generation with the episode sequence number, so I can sort them to make DVDs easier. Using RenameRecordings helps a TON with that, but once I add the "### - " to the beginning of each episode, they are obviously deleted from GBPVR's database.

The only work around I can think of is to copy the file to the desired name, so they are both there, then manually edit the database with the new file name. It should work, but doesn't sound like fun.... Or I could edit the episode name in the database's schedule before it records, but I guess I would have to catch it that day.

Update, I had a show that didn't have an episode name from zap2it. I went into the database in RECORDING_SCHEDULE and found the show listed. That gave me the programme_oid. Then I went into PROGRAMME and scrolled down to that oid, and in the sub_title (which was blank) I typed in the desired filename prefix. Then closed the database, and ran RenameRecordings.exe. It renamed the file perfectly, and updated the database. The show still shows up with description in GBPVR.

The way I did it was actually very simple, and I might try and figure out a simple way to automate it.

First, I copy the entire gbpvr directory just in case!
Then, I opened gbpvr.mdb with access.
Then I open the Table PROGRAMME.
I click on an item under the "name" column and hit the A-Z sort button.
Then I scroll down through all of the shows until I find the show I want, "Star Trek: The Next Generation" in this case. In the "sub_title" column it will have the episode name, if available. I click in that cell, and add "101 - " (without the quotes) or whatever to the beginning of the show description.
When the show finally records, renamerecordings will rename it to what I want!

I am using Zap2it with 14 days of info ahead of time. I can rename an episode as soon as it shows up 14 days out, and it will not get overwritten.
