Unable Load NEWA data

Do you have any pending recordings? If so could you upload your npvr.db3 probably to big to upload here so try dropbox etc or just empty the epg and it should be small enough.

Pkscout how did you create those Test Cable Box recordings? NEWA JSON doesn't like them with their empty event_details field

They are manual recordings, and I'm pretty sure I created them with the NPVR windows front end. It's a ten minute recording that I do daily so another XBMC addon can check and see if the recording exists. If it doesn't I assume my cable box has been turned off and trigger a servo to turn it back on.

I could just schedule a show to record, but I'd have to find something that is on everyday early in the morning. Is there any way to add event details to the manual recording (short of editing the database)?

I can duplicate that here now and I will work with UJB for a solution. You could use SOAP which I haven't tested for a while since it is going to be deprecated in NEWA but probably better modify the python code to not call getUpcomingRecordings_json by replacing if self.settings.XNEWA_INTERFACE != 'SOAP': with if False: in getUpcomingRecordings

The SOAP setting does work, although I swear I had tried it before and gotten the same error. Anyway, since the list of upcoming recordings is what I actually want, I'll just use the SOAP interface for now.

X-NEWA calls are cached so it doesn't thrash the server, you probably needed to hit Refresh.

Ok the utf-8 update is now online in 2.3.0 time hopefully it is no longer pound foolish.
