Won't install on PC

I'm sorry - this is the most fundamental of questions!

I downloaded NextPVR from the web-site and followed the install instructions. Everything seemed to go well but - when it finished - I had no NextPVR on my machine.

I am sure I did something dumb but can you suggest what?

NextPVR doesn't install a desktop icon, did you look on the start menu?

I would have been horrified if it had been that simple! It's a Windows 8 machine so there's no Start menu as such. I looked in the Program Files and program Files (386) folder but there's no NextPVR folder. I also searched the PC for it but there's no sign.

Probably also too obvious when you are looking but there is no NextPVR folder it's called NPVR

And yes, even on win 8.1, there is a start menu. You just have to click the little down arrow below the tiles, and then scroll over to see all the traditional start menu groups.

That's a good tip about the Start menu! I didn't know that. Sadly there's still no sign of NextPVR, NPVR or any other kind of Pvr on my machine. Does the installer create a log anywhere? It reported that it completed successfully.

When you run the installer the Details window should explain everything. Run it again, and review the details. IF you don't see anything copy the contents to the clipboard and paste it into notepad, compress and upload.

A tip could be to right-click the installer and select "Run as Administrator".
