From what I've read on this post auto-skip has not been developed yet as this is still in Beta, according to Fred's post on the 1st page this is something he wants to complete as part of his to do list for this app, not sure if others are helping him out of not.

I was hitting the fast forward button that was jumping to almost the end of the recording, also I cannot get the volume button to work but I've read the post and that seems to be the issue with most of Samsung Devices.

Skipping forward using FFW button isn't working yet, skipping using REW seems to work though.
Haven't had time to look into it.

dljones8053 Wrote:Once comskip start working I will not really need to skip forward as comskip works really well for me. I only need this to work with all my recordings as Live TV has always been too slow changing channels anyway even on a full client system its a long lag.
Comskip is high up on my todo list since that is the feature I miss most myself.
Again, haven't had the time.

dljones8053 Wrote:Another thing that is weird I see the wireless icon in the lower right corner of my screen even I'm only using wired network, I think that should be removed as if you don't know if you set it up on wired or wireless then maybe you should not be doing a client. Big Grin

Well, the icon is actually showing bit rate/streaming quality (Standard LG behavior, only working on LG devices ATM).
I might remove the icon in the future if I need the space.

Looking to buy another tv and wondering how LG handles files and do hey have skipping issues like the Samsung tvs do?

There are only a few people that have ask for the LG files.
I haven't got much feedback yet.

My personal opinion is that both the 2012 and 2013 LG TVs (low/mid range) I own do a far better job skipping and seeking in recordings than my BD-F6500. I don't own a Samsung TV so I can't compare with that.

The LGs are faster and more accurate on skipping. Resume works.
Sometimes the audio is gone after a skip (on 2013) but I don't know if the TV or Onkyo receiver is to blame. A short skip backwards usually fix it.

But! new LG TVs are WebOS based and my TVs are “Netcast”. My app will probably not install or run on new LG TVs without tweaks.
ATM I have no plans to support WebOS models but that may change in the future if I get one myself or people start asking.

BTW...
Just made a new version (0.22.1) of the app available through the AppLoader.

* Added a 4 min skip
* Settings on E models should be persistent even after a power cycle
* An attempt to fix the volume and mute problem on TVs (untested, yet to be confirmed)

I will test on my LED Samsung 2014 H5500 and give you feed back in a few days.

Thanks for such a great app! Smile

Fred

I did the upgrade late last night but for some reason is still shows 0.21.1 as the version not 0.22.1 but the new button was there for FF/REW under the settings.

Anyway now when I hit the volume button up or down it kicks me out of the PVR App and goes back to regular TV.

So the volume button is still not behaving as it should thought you like to know.

Thanks for testing dj,

Well, If it doesn't say version 0.22.1 (0.221) you haven't got the new version installed.
Until just a minute ago the 0.22.1 was only available through my Samsung AppLoader.
now it will install from IP 76.76.102.42 as well.

Please reinstall and confirm the new version is installed before continuing testing.

This morning it does say 0.22.1 so guess it was a refresh issue, sorry about that.

Is it the same behaviour regardless of while playing a recording or not?
