I see it too on my F-bluray. I'd say it's an F model issue.
My cheap E-model TV even allows me to skip in the growing file. A trick not possible on many other players including the LG ones.

I really don't know what I can do to fix this. Maybe some server side tricks in the streamer can fool the player, but I wouldn't bet on it.

but its a little random on the point as in it could be 4 minutes out (only did quick test)

Thanks for the feedback.
Version 0.24.3 uses the standard resume method of the Samsung player API instead of my earlier implementation where the app would start playing and then seek to the resume position after a certain amount of time.

I thought using the API would be the safer way Sad
Anyway, I will build a new version where I use the delayed seek again and set the delay before seek to 5 secs to determine whether it’s a timing error or something else.

I’ll let you know when there is something new to test.

I will send you a PM when your app is built later today or tomorrow.

Thanks Fred,

Successfully installed today, and it works, which is absolutely fabulous!

What's the best way to report problems (eg seek issues, "listen" to radio not working, etc)? Is there any logging or other info which can be captured?

Also, what about feature requests (eg play music or digital radio whilst in menu, channel surfing, option to record a show which you've started watching - retaining the buffer file saved to that point, browse epg whilst still watching show (eg PIP))?

Thanks again for all your work!!!

There is just this thread (for now). So this will be the place to report bugs and ask for features.

Various problems related to seeking on F models are well known and there's unfortunately not much I can do about it.
Yours was an H model right?
No logging of the client, just the regular NPVR logs.

At this stage getting TV sorted is my main concern and other plugins and features will come later.
The planned features list in post #1 is still valid.

its not perfect but its very good seems to be about 10-20 past the resume point (good enough in my opinion) but if you wanted to make it better maybe make the resume point -25 seconds (if possible) that way you see a bit of what you were already watching ,hope this make sense Smile

Thanks for testing.

This (long) delayed resume is not the behavior a want for other players that don’t need it so I might as well put in the option to handle resume and possibly skipping differently for E-models.

Would you say the 10-20 secs past resume point is consistent even between files recorded from different channels?
Also can you see the same error with manual skipping? Always 10-20 secs past where you want to go or is it more or less spot on?
Does it matter if it is a long or short skip?

Q1 Would you say the 10-20 secs past resume point is consistent even between files recorded from different channels?
did more testing on this ,I was wrong it sems on mpeg videos the longer the video the worse the stepping gets and it seems a little random on the difference(but still better than no resume (on a movie i resumed 45 min and it was like at 48mins instead
H264 videos seem to resume fine

Q2 Also can you see the same error with manual skipping? Always 10-20 secs past where you want to go or is it more or less spot on?
Manual skipping is pretty much bang on

Q3 Does it matter if it is a long or short skip?
Skipping seems fine long and short

More testing on resume

Other movies did the exact opposite meant to skip to 1:04min instead resumed to 58mins
then next movie same channel was meant to be 1:08 went to 1:16
same channel again was meant to be 60mins went to 56

different channel movie
meant to be 1:02min resumed to 58min
meant to be 1:08min resumed to 1:12min

Not sure this helps you
If you want me to try specific skip times just let me know

Cheers Stu

Thanks a lot for the deeper testing.

I was surprised to hear manual skipping is bang on while resume is not.
It’s the same code that makes the actual jump.
I would have expected about the same result with the two scenarios.

I think I’ll add a resume button for testing, so that you can jump to the supposed resume position again and again and see if it differs where you’re starting from and such.

New version 0.24.5 for testing - yellow button always seek to initial resume position.
Stu, play with it and se if the actual resume position changes when the seek/resume is triggered from different positions in the recording.
