the yellow button seems to take multiple presses to get to correct point
say i want it at 8:40
im at 30:00
first press takes me to 11:20
second press takes me to 9:00
third press gets me to the right spot 8:40

same video sometimes gives different times but third press seems to be pretty constant on the right spot

Thanks, that’s useful information and may suggest a work around where the resume (and seek) function is allowed 3 or 4 automatic attempts to end up right.

But it still confuses me that you experience better accuracy with manual seeking than resume using the yellow button.

It isn’t that short skips (a few minutes or so) often is more accurate than long skips and for long skips you overlook the fact that it skipped 22 min instead of 20 min as it was supposed to?
Note that elapsed time reported by the player isn't necessarily correct all the time.
Bear with me, just want to make sure. Smile

I'm happy to keep testing as long as its helping.
I will test and make notes of long skips tonight.
The thing is when you skip normally you don't really care that it ends at the wrong spot as long as it goes forward. Then you normally correct with small skip to get where you want.

I have noticed that small skips backwards towards end of show sometimes go forwards a few seconds instead of backward 15secs

You are correct longer skip were out a few minutes (20min skip was 23ish)
10min skip was not to bad a little bit out
4min skips are pretty much right (this is the main skip i use as thats the length of our adverts)

Thanks again for testing. Your result confirms my suspicions and I now got something to work with.
I hope I'll be able to bring something together for you to test in a few days or so.

New version 0.25.0 available for test through the apploader.

* If playback position after a seek is off by more than 15 sec from target up to 4 attempts will be made to hit the target.

* Support for auto skip commercials

I can see it doing its thing on the resume
comskip is working great. The only issue i have is that my comskip is not always exact so i normally press play to skip.Any chance you could add something similar(doesnt have to be play button)

The resume and long seek solution isn't the prettiest but if it works it's better than nothing.

I will add manual skip of commercials using play button and also 999 to temporarily disable auto comskip in a future version.

As long as it gets to the right point no one will care that it jumps around a bit
better than trying to jump around yourself to locate the resume point
