Good news
With that new file I can open NPVR, choose a channel from the guide. It will tune to that channel and, in testing so far, play that channel perfectly.

Bad news
Unfortunately, if I go back to the guide and choose a different channel, it seems to attempt to change the channel but then freeze without actually showing the new channel.

Confusing news
If I then play the dump.ts file, it plays the channel I was trying to tune to perfectly (I assume the dump.ts file will start anew if a channel gets changed).

To the best of my knowledge, 3.2.9, when viewing livetv from the server (rather than from the client) was pretty flawless, even when changing channels although watching livetv on the server is not a typical use for me. From the client I have always had a channel change crapshoot and freezes after a period of time.

I don't think the dump feature is compatible with live tuning and you need to turn it off.

That version could cause problems for other devices, so isn't a permanent fix I can keep. Try the attached. This one I could keep.

Oddly, I'm not sure why this is different than previous releases. I know what the problem is, but strangely it looks like it was just as possible in previous releases, and no near anything that changed in this release.

Yep, as Martin says, you should disable (set to zero) or remove those registry settings.

Outstanding.

Deleting the registry keys got me back in business. I'm back to hitting about 50% when changing channels (freeze vs success), but that might be where I was on the server during 3.2.9. I assume I will also bat about 50% from the client which is where I was during 3.2.9.

The newest NPVRwriter is definitely the best of the lot.

Thanks sub and Martin, I'm off to learn how to incorporate the new sub-channels into the guide and look forward to having a full slate of EPG data.

Yep - I suspect you're right, and this is the same problem.
